Won't switch from headphone setting

I have an SPV C550. We also have a THB car phone kit which also has a cradle for a smart phone. Nowever now the phone won't switch back from headphone setting.

Sometimes it switches to normal after the battery is taken out and replaced but it soon goes back.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
