To my fellow Gadget loving people,

My name is Lee Mallon, I am currently involved in setting up a free to use education centre teaching English and ICT to children between 6 and 20 years of age in a village called Mawala, a deprived area of Sri Lanka.

The iwantsomethingdifferent.com project which was setup in September was to plan, fundraise, built and setup an ICT and English teaching education centre within a year. I daring goal I know but something with so many rewards, currently we have managed to raise £2,200 of the £10,000 needed (I know only £10,000 to build a educational centre) through fundraising events and donations. I am writing this now to ask you for fundraising ideas (IT based event, online competition) or business / people you may know that would like to help.

We hope to develop this centre into something amazing without the need for a high budget or state of the art equipment. There are further details available online at www.iwantsomethingdifferent.com which also includes a 3D walk around of the new centre.
