Turn off charging while sync

I read this somewhere but couldn't find it again, so here it is:

To turn off charging via USB while syncronizing do this tweak (worked on my SP5):

Path: Hkey_Local_Machine\Drivers\BuiltIn\Usbfndrv

Value: EnableUsbCharging

Value =

0 = off

1 = on

Note that the phone will still charge normaly via the standard charger. Also if the phone was off it will also charge via USB from PC.

Using this you can always connect your phone to your PC and be able to empty you battery regulary.

why would be want to do that? is it really bad to charge the battery frecuently even if you still have some left?

i guess with the time the life of the battery will get shorter and shorter ;)

I need a program to turn off and turn on charging during sync.

It's like that we can turn grid view on and turn grid off.

but i don't know how to write this program.

all i know is to modify the registry.

May someone help me to do this ? thanks !

Using this you can always connect your phone to your PC and be able to empty you battery regulary.

Never try to discharge your battery on purpose, Li-ion batteries prefer to be topped up regulary rather than being discharged.
