Guest pino63 Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 Hi all! My swedish qtek 8310's manual says: "this equipment may be operated in" and lists a bunch of european countries. What does this mean, doesn't it work in the US? Or is it illegal to use it there? Why is it quad-band then? Thank-you. Pino.
Guest nastassja Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 well i also have a 8310 and will be travelling to the states in april, i hope it works there! afaik it should since it's a quad band phone, i guess this information you read is just for marketing purposes, since this terminal is offered in the states by the local operators with another name i guess.
Guest kam_ Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 It works perfectly, i've been plenty of places with mine including north america ;) Quad band is a big help in north america, their 1900 coverage can be quite patchy. (the 850 band travels further at the same signal level than 1900, so it works alot better when they have fewer towers)
Guest liquidsg Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 that's good news, thanks ;) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i live in north america and the phone gets great coverage.
Guest PPCPassion Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 i live in north america and the phone gets great coverage. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No problem in Wash DC metro area.
Guest Eminos Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 Yea, Quadband is really good compared to european Triband, when using the phone in North America. I stay in Montreal, Canada right now, and the phone works great here. /E
