Removing Skype

I think there's another thread about this but I can't find it!!

Removed skype last night - think it's been properly slowing down my 9100 - and now getting a 'cannot execute skype' error every time i bring it out of standby.

I understand some other folk have been having this problem and am hoping it doesn't involve doing some reg edit which i've never done before and would rather avoid.

It's a royal PITA - I used the uninstall which left most of the files and a whole bunch of registry entries behind. I cleared out all of the registry entries by hand (!) and deleted all the files, but I must have missed some because I still have a 'Call with Skype' option appearing for contacts in my contact list.

It's put me right off Skype - if they can't write a proper (un)installer, what can they do? I mean, it's not a hard thing to do. :roll:

I had the same problem, was really annoying. Can't rememebr how I got rid of it but I just googled the error and this sounds familiar.

go to http://www.scarybearsoftware.com/ppc_cn_overview.html and download the

"checknotifications" app.

When you run it you will see a notification for skype.exe, delete it.

Can confirm that checknotification does the job
