Photo/Video Counter in Registry?

I want to upgrade the OS on my SP5 and that will wipe the phone...

Will this reset the Photo and Video counters (the counters that name each photo, e.g. with IMAGE_0189)

I've looked around the forums for registry entries etc., but it's not jumping out at me and I'd rather get an answer before I nuke the phone ;)

While I'm asking, does anyone know of a good central list of registry tweaks for Windows Mobile 5 (WM5)? I tweaked a few things and now I want to upgrade the OS, I have to rethink them all :roll: (the SP5 device-specific forum has a list of registry tweaks, but it hasn't changed since last Nov, and I'm not sure it's complete?)

I'm sure hard resetting your phone would reset the counters. I looked in the registry and found a couple of places with camera related values, but nothing for the counter.

Thanks for looking rogueqd. Of course it may not be in the registry, but I was just hoping someone might have a few more clues.

You know, it's amazing how much of a pain-in-the all these config settings have become. You either have to not worry about them ('ah who care if half my photos have the same numbers at the others, I can rename them bla bla') or spend ages getting to the bottom of every setting. I'm used to figuring the techie stuff, but I thought we'd moved beyond hacking values with hex editors or registry editors?!!

Hi there,

i'll push up this thread as i'm searching the same information.

I want to set back the counter to a specific value.

After i reset my phone, the counter is reset also. As i'm keeping a backup of the pictures on my PC, and in one single folder, i want the pictures i take now to start with a specific value so that they will append in the backup folder.

Does anyone know how to set this value?

I've searched also in the Registry, but didn't find anything related to the counters :P

As far as *I am aware* the only thing counter wise that can be chanfed is the folders that are generated with each picture date and this was changed by a regisry edit that gpcarreon found i think.

This is the only one i know of!

I had the same issue. I pick and choose among the registry tweaks I come across on Modaco, and when I reset my phone, I have to re-do it all over again. So I started creating my own CAB files for all the key registry tweaks I like. Now when I reset, I just apply my CAB files and I am done.
