SPV C550 and it turns out it's got a stupid owner ;)

Before I start bombarding the forum with daft questions, is there a "definitive" guide on here or, on the internet?

As i'm really struggling with A) Poxy bluetooth connecting (have read the guide on here and am still no closer) ;) Email, I'm on btconnect (POP3 server) and cannot configure the phone to grab mails as it has no POP3 option :exclaim:

You're not alone, in my opinion these phones have been made deliberatly daft so that companies can get revenue off you calling up for help. :evil:

Try dropping into an Orange shop, their helpers should sort your settings out for your gratis.

@onlinelabrador - you're right - sometimes 'Smartphones' aren't all that smart - but it can depend on who's driving it at the time ;)

The POP3 option is called IMAP4 on the C550 - dunno why. It's quite clever at detecting the ISP's email settings but your outgoing server must be smtp.orange.net rather than your own ISP's setting.

What problems are you having with BT? Have you ticked the box - many users assume it's for IR only but it's for BT too and you won't be able to receive files without the option ticked. and tick the box.

POP3 account won't be listed until you add it. In the messaging screen you bring up the menu, there's an option in there to add an account. Can't remember exactly as I don't have a smartphone anymore (have PPC phone).
