Guest rannoch Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 I had Activesync 3.8 happily worokng with C500 on two PCs. The device within Activesync was called C500a for some reason. I've bought a C600, and installed Activesync 4.0. Linked up the C500 and it recognised it as C500a, and allowed me to select what I wanted to sync, and how to sync (merge pc data to phone, replace pc data on phone, etc) - no problem. Connected the C600, and originally it setup a device called C600, and synced OK. I've now moved to the second PC, installed Activesync 4.0. The C500a is working OK as it was used with this PC before, but the C600 has set up a device name of WM_myname1, and is syncing both phone and PC so I have duplicate entries in contacts. Deleting device from active sync and turning off the C600 does nothing. I connect it and it retrieves the settings and the WM_myname1 and starts to sync. How do I completely wipe out all reference to this WM_myname1 device name and set up a new device called simply C600 Regards, Rannoch
Guest rannoch Posted April 2, 2006 Report Posted April 2, 2006 I case anyone has the same issue. Using the Clear Storage facility I got rid of the device identifier, and was able then to set the C600 up again with the correct parameters (ie. replace device with details from PC). New device set up as C600. I only tried this as it's a new phone, and I had no data to lose. I also found that it did NOT reset the sim unlock. Rannoch
