Guest Rapier Posted April 2, 2006 Report Posted April 2, 2006 Hi all, Though I've looked for a while on the topics I couldn't find an answer. Is there a possibility to hear the ringtones in the bluetooth headset? I mean when the phone is ringing. I have a Plantronics headsed connected to a C600 and all I hear is a standard "beep" when I got an incomming call. I have a friend with a Nokia (N70) and same headset and he can hear the ringtones. It's useless to have different ringtones assigned for different contacts if I can make no difference whn someone calls. I was looking for something like Bluetunes or so but not for music, for the ringtones. Anyone any ideeas, or is just me who needs this? Many thanks

I could be wrong though...

I could be wrong though... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> not quite... with the same identical BT, one of my friends can hear the ringtones on a Nokia. So... could be the phone then. Anyway is somebody who can hear the ringtones in the headset on SPV (or other similar phone)? I've noticed that in certain situations I can hear something.. That is when I have a second incomming call. For a brief period, while the first call is ending, I can hear the ringtone sometimes for the second call... I couldn't test it to much though. But that means it is possible somehow, at least there is no hardware limitation. Maybe something should be activated in the phone to hear the tones.
Guest SpDamage Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 The one definitely true thing is that evreything about BT does depend on the protocols(& their versions) supported by both phone and headset. I can say that I tried many motos, plantronics & jabra sets with my device and none did play the sound ;) There was also time when i tried to find a stereo set to listen mp3s but all of them require a specific A2DP bluetooth profile. Sad but tornado doesn't support one ;) I think that the problem with standart sets and the ringtone lies in the same place. PS can also be wrong ;))) Sorry for my English if it is not perfect! russian is my native :P

All I get when looking on google is some devices not programs. Could you provide a link please? If it is free, I think it is not against forum rules to post the link or program itself. Regards,
