Guest fuel925 Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 Can anyone recommend a free or cheap way to completely backup my MDA Vario, so that if all my programs/settings etc get wiped by an update or hard reset, I will simply be able to restore my vario to its previous state?
Guest Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 No sure if there are any free Backup applications out there. I use SPB Backup (www.spbsoftwarehouse.com) - costs $19.95 (or in UK money, just over a tenner). It can backup up the entire contents of your phone to your SD card and creates self-extracting archives. Should anything go pear-shaped, simply double-tap on the backup file and it will restore itself. You can schedule backups to run at any time, after which it will perform a soft reset automatically. The way I use it is to backup the phone to the SD card whenever I make any changes then backup the SD card to my PC hard drive. Sounds like a bit of a pain but priceless when things go completely wrong! ;) They do a trial version so it's worth downloading it and see what you think.
Guest Stabilo Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 (edited) I have tried Sunnysoft Backup with my SPV M2000 (WM2003SE) and it performed quite well. However when I restored my email accounts were a bit scrambled. Has anyone experienced the same? Is SPB Backup a different product to Sunnysoft Backup? Looking at the screen shots for SPB Backup it is different. Edited April 9, 2006 by Stabilo
