Greater control over backlight

Just wondering whether it's possible to control the brightness level on the backlight with more accuracy than the standard WM5 slider control? The slider goes from 0-4 with 2 being the default setting, and 0 being off. I have mine set to 1, but it's still a bit brighter than I need, and I figure if I could set it to 0.5 (e.g,) I'd save a bit of battery power. But of course the only lower setting than 1 is 'off' which isn't much use.

Are there any apps out there which give greater control?

I use mine on full only because of the glare that I'm pretty much continually in... However, a mate of mine who upgraded to the Prophet from the Magician was complaining about the lack of options in this area... However, I would assume that it would be very difficult to change, due to it being in collaboration directly with the LED's?

What do the LEDs have to do with it?

I was just wondering if somebody like VJay had written an app (like his VJLumos thing) to allow greater control of the backlight...

Well I assumed that perhaps they only had a few settings on them, like when you have lights that have 5 different intensity settings... I just thought, it sure would be cool to see the screen fade in and out over and over and over, moehahah
