Guest simonwilliamsdotcom Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 Hello, I have now signed up to T-Mobile Web 'N Walk £7.50pm Unlimited GPRS. I have an imate Jamin with the new AKU2 Push Email ROM installed. I have currently set up my Messaging App to check my IMAP email server over GPRS every 15 mins and it seems to work OK. I don'h have any worries over GPRS Charges at last ! What benefits would I get from setting up the full Push Email solution (I assume delivery in a few seconds not 15 mins would be the main)? I am a home user and don't have an exchange server available and my personal email is not Time Critical. It seems a bit steep to pay £6+pm for a hosted exchange provider like 1&1 and probably a big hassle. Would I be able to sync my diary and stuff over the air to an exchange server and back to my Desktop outlook ? Any comments on benefits and cheapest cost method much appreciated. Regards Simon
Guest jimbouk Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 Yes you would. You set both the device and the outlook on your pc to sync with the server and hence anything that either receives will be sync'd via the server to the other. Any changes made on your devices' email, calendar or contacts will be sync'd to server and then to your pc. If your outlook is set to pick up mail from any other mail account you have, they will be sent to your device. MSFP direct push will typically get an email to you within five minutes.
