Guest MitchellO Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 Last night after reading about the SP5 update I decided to do it simply because my SP5 needed a hard reset anyway. It was getting really slow, the start menu was terribly slow, and it generally needed a clean after all the stuff I have installed and uninstalled in the few months I have had it (never reset it yet). Well I am glad I took the opportunity to update to the latest ROM!! After a slow download, it was finally sitting on my desktop. I decided to hardreset the phone before even starting the update to make sure nothing got in the way of it starting. I set the phone as a guest and started the upgrade. It took a bit less than 10 minutes. The new ROM is definately faster than the old one, both when the phone is clean (aka. nothing extra installed) and when apps are installed. I removed the application lock, and with Total Commander, TCPMP and a few other apps installed it runs perfectly!! I even gave the exchange email a try with a trial account from 4smartphone, but they don't support the push email yet. Does anybody know of a Exchange provided that supports MS Push Email and have a free trial? Cheers guys!
Guest kam_ Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 I see you have a i-mate (SP5). The clubimate email they give you free when you register supports push. 10mb as far as i remember.
Guest MitchellO Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 I haven't been able to get push working with clubimates exchange. I can sync the mail manually but nothing is getting "pushed" to my phone ;) Any ideas?
Guest kam_ Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 Hmmm i havnt tried it myself, but i see alot of people that have got it working - after some fiddling. I'll test it out tommorow once i setup my new work email too.
