e-mail confusion

I have an mda vario & have just started getting my e-mails on it but wenever I goto d/load new mails the ones that are in my inbox dissapear! is ther a way to stop this?

What's the exact problem? Do they disappear from the phone or from the server? The latter is expected, as "pop" mail removes the mails from the server. This makes it hard to use multiple computers to access the same mailbox.
