Hi,

has anyone heard of their phones device id changing? recently my tomtom software has stopped working, saying i need to activate it again. When it does this it displays my device id on the phone, and now it is different from when i first activated the software!!

Has anyone ever seen this happen - or can someone please tell me another way to check my device id (through wm5 rather than relying on what my tomtom software says)?

Please help!

The device ID is usually something like WM - username.

Look in activesync. The [partnership will be named the same as the device.

Your best bet is to contact TomTom and let them know.

The TomTom user is not the same or taken from the the username.

Have you updated the ROM or installed anything new recently?

THe only other time I have heard similar is when a device has been unlocked via the SPV-Developers site.

Hi awarner,

i recently installed wm5 storage, and to get that to work followed the suggedtion to add this registry key to fully unlock the phone:

Create the following registry key, restart the phone, and it will work:

to "HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies" add new value "0000101b": dword = 1

I have been asking in that topic if this could possibly result in changing my device id but people seem to think not. No-one else seems so far to have had a similar problem after installing wm5 storage. However it was about this time that tomtom stopped working and i suspect it is related.

Going to try and uninstall wm5 storage and remove the registry key to see if that has any effect.

Thanks

edit:

Unistalling wm5storage and removing the registry key has resolved the issue. tomtom now loads as before without asking for a new activation code.
