i300 and editing contact's birthday

Just got this phone today but have been trying to edit a contact's birthday date and scrolling the wheel etc. doesn't seem to do anything. What are the exact steps on the i300 to edit a birthday on the contact's screen? Thanks

You cant change settings like that if your contact is on your sim card. If its on your phone just go to contacts>select the contact you wish to edit>edit>scroll down to birthday>fill it in>then done.
