WMV sometimes Plays

hi there, im new to using windows media 10 on WM5, so i loaded some files, but some dont play, others do... they all work on my pc though, dont have any funny codecs or anything, any help please....

oh the files are WMV

If they use Digital Restrictions Management (DRM), then they won't play as the content producer doesn't trust you enough.

Also, the PC media player will download new codecs automatically, whereas the PPC one won't. Don't discount codecs just yet; try and find a common theme between the files that work and the ones that don't.

Finally, some people misname media files a lot, but a lot of players ignore it. I suppose it's possible that some of your wmv files might actually be e.g. AVI files.
