Guest saltini Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 Hi. New to forum so hope I have posted this question in the right place. I am looking to buy an SPV M5000 on orange but have a couple of questions. A friend had the same phone on O2 (exec i think) and he said he had found a few problems with the handset, them being.... One was it had really poor signal, even right next to a cell site, the signal really struggled to reach 2 / 3 bars and if phone was help, that would decrease the signal considerably also. Ring tones seemed to have a problem breaking up when the phone rang. He mentiond a couple of other minor bugs but I cant remember them off the top of my head. I did dig around and found out that their was a software update for the phone, all I am aware is that it gives the m5000 push email, I was wondering if their was any other software fixes included? I am now able to upgrade my orange number and was looking at the M5000 but was just wondering if the same problems exist with the orange handset? Also, do you know if you can use a 2 gig SD card on the m5000? Any help / advice would be more than welcome! Thanks for reading my post! Cheers!
Guest angus Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 Yes you can use a 2gb sd card in the spvm5000 And yes it is a bit flaky Hi. Guest Pondrew Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 Moved to Pocket PC Help & Advice as the SPV M5000 (HTC Universal) is a Pocket PC Phone rather then a Smartphone...
Guest jimbouk Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 Firstly every handset is different when it comes to radio strength. You can have two models come off the production line together and one is great whilst the other struggles. Secondly, unless you really want a huge handset, take a look at the M3100. Its smaller but still has qwerty keyboard.
Guest Confucious Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 I have an O2 Exec which I'm using on T-mob with the latest iMAte hacked AKU 3 ROM. Never had any of those problems with the original O2 ROM, the latest Orange ROM should be OK but there data prices are prohibitive for a device like this unless you can get their Unlimited £8/month bundle.
