MDA compact touch screen problem

My MDA compact works fine but all of a sudden without any physical truma, the touch screen is delayed (10sec). Ive flashed it with all the different roms i can find even to the original German t-mobile one. Tried every reset possible (soft & hard)

Opened up the unit and all the connections look fine. Asked several stores, they could only suggest to flash it.

The thing is if its a hardware issue then the screen won't work at all, sometimes it works fine for about a 30sec. Im lost now. Should i replace the screen or is there something i can try?

The first thing to check for intermitant faults is usually temperature. Often things die once they warm up (or vice versa). You can check for heat problems by putting the phone in a warm or cold place, then trying to replicate the failure. If you can pin it down to this, you defo need a new one.

Are things consistent when it does work? As in, it'll work for a while, it breaks, do a soft reset then it works again?

Finally, when you say you checked the connections, did you actually remove then replace them? If not, try that. The cables used in these are notorious for failing, and "reseating them" fixes most cases I've come across.
