Compressing video

What software do I use to change the size of my mpeg video to fit on the smartphone. My files are about 40mb. Maybe to wma?

you can use QuickTime Pro. I use a Macintosh so I'm not too familiar with Windows software. But for every one Mac software, there are about 20 for windows, so there are a bunch out there. You can ask Google.

So far, I got Mencoder, ffmpegx, handbrake, mpeg streamclip to resize my videos to a nice little megabyte for the phone.

I use The Core Pocket Media Player by the way. it's more versatile in playing different video formats.

I use Tsunami MPEG encoder (TMPEnc).

Pocket divx encoder (http://divx.ppccool.com/) or for $6 spring for Lathe (http://www.omniquiti.com/store_pde.html) which is an updated version. I'm cheap so I stick with pde.

As for playback I use TCPMP (which used to be betaplayer and is going to be called betaplayer again soon).
