It's a Java-based content delivery system that combines the immediacy of SMS with a richness that far surpasses WAP content. The application uses the Java programming language (J2ME) and connects over the GPRS or 3G network. It is downloaded onto your phone, and it works on practically all current phones, and many previous models too. And when you change your phone, you can just download the application again. Tested and working on my C600 ;) GuardianUnlimited Mobile here
Guest pd.ryder Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 Running fine on my C550 ;) I am wondering about how much data it's gonna use when active with all this auto refreshing etc. For instance does it only refresh the active page or the whole bunch of 'subscribed topics', and how often? Not much info on their site regarding the quantity of data being used. I'll quickly find out - bill day soon ;)
Guest roma0803 Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 (edited) On2go data usage Network operators charge for data sent to and from your phone. Below is the typical amount of data used for On2go. Downloading the application 40 kB Keeping On2go running with the GPRS connection open 1 kB per hour Receiving one new headline 0.1 kB Opening a story 2.5-7 kB Edit: Very, very small font on my SP5m. Not readable. Followed the exact instructions (including the reboot of the phone :??: ). Let's contact support. Edited April 8, 2006 by roma0803
Guest pd.ryder Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 Had the app crash horribly on me at work last night. I needed a restart to put things right. Not sure what happened but the phone froze up ++ Tis a beta after all, I'll check back with On2go...

Guest drblow Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006  I just got a call on my mobile from On2Go customer support! They wanted to know why I hadn't downloaded the app after recieveing the text message. I explained that it was coz I was too lazy to set up my wap connection properly, & she kindly offered to talk me through it over the phone! After a bit of trouble finding the Orange C550 on her system, the nice girl then proceeded to read out the fileds to be filled in the settings page - only a fe wof which were actually on my settings page. She ended the call after that, asking if it would be OK for their 'technical team' to contact me. I said OK. They seemed kind of keen that I would get the app on my phone, which makes me altogether a bit suspicious!! Anyone else had this experience yet??
Guest pd.ryder Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 No, I've not heard from them in this manner, but then I d/l the app over my BB connection using ActiveSync, and I can't remember if that process included me providing my mobile number to them. Also, I have used the app since the d/l, so maybe that's why they're not chasing me. /P
