Guest muff Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 (edited) As mentioned a few weeks ago, here is my little benchmarker It's primarily for testing the speed of my new gfx engine on various devices, but also reports some other stuff that is useful To use it, just unzip it and put the exe on the phone, then use the phone's filemanager to run the exe It's designed to run on ALL 16-bit Smartphone and PPC's It takes a couple of minutes to run, and once complete spits out a text file of it's results into the same folder as the original exe. For those that are interested, I'm going to gather all the data together into a page that allows us all to compare devices. If you want to do this, please copy the 'benchmark.txt' file back to your PC and rename it to the name of the device i.e. 'Orange M1000.txt' and load it up here Of course if you come across any problems then let me know [EDIT] Also attached now is a zip containing a summary of the results in Excel format [/EDIT] muff p.s. for PPC's go to http://www.modaco.com/Benchmarker-t239253.htmlBenchmark.zipsummary.zip Edited June 29, 2006 by muff
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 Memory Read/Write times are interesting when you compare the internal storage with a memory card. martin did you put the exe on the phone or storage card? Mine was on the phone itself...C600.txt

Guest pd.ryder Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 There seems little point me posting another C550 result. I can't imagine there's much, if any, difference between individual devices. Looking forward to the table of results though. Should be interesting.
Guest Alex_le_brit Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 (edited) Here's a nice comparison.... An original SPV running the last Rom issued from Orange France. Glad to know it can create a file quicker than a C600. Pity about the time it took to write it though.spv_classic.txt Edited April 8, 2006 by Alex_le_brit
Guest martin Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 martin did you put the exe on the phone or storage card? Mine was on the phone itself... <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Yep, I ran the exe from the storage card.
Guest M1DUL Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 And here the results from a Orange SPV C500 (wm2003se) running The Updated Rom Version from the device.

Guest muff Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 this is going to be fun to summarise :-k multiple phones, multiple providers, multiple rom versions, multiple clock speeds as soon as I've come up with a reasonable method I'll start to put it all together tho ;)

Guest schahr01 Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 (edited) Here's mine. Cingular 2125 with imate sp5 aku2 rom. No third party apps or today plugins installed. Simple homescreen. No miniSD card. I do have aku2 configured. No overclocking. I like the status page. It looked like you bluescreened my device ;) Can you separate the part of the benchmarker that animates the balls and make it a standalone .exe, possibly changing the hue of the balls? I like it. Looks cool on the QVGA screen.Cingular2125_iMateROM.txt Edited April 9, 2006 by schahr01
