Guest mortalwombat Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 Hi Folks, I have an issue with my C600. After a clean install of all apps (see list below), the phone works great in all respects. After a couple of months or so, the phone stops being able to play audio files. I first noticed this when my alarm on Fizz Traveller stopped working, (the alarm screen would pop up and the alarm would "go off", but the alarm did not make any noise). I thought it was an issue with Fizz Traveller, but when I tried to play other audio files with WMP, none of them made anny noise. Strangely, the native alarm application worked OK and also the phone ringtone would work OK when a call came in. I am pretty sure wiping the phone then re-installing will work, but it should not be necessary. I was wondering if anyone else had experienced similar problems and, if they did, how they solved it. Of course, it might just be possible that my phone is shagged... in which case, Orange care will sort me out. The apps I have installed are: TomTom Mobile 5.2 Fizz Traveller 2.3 beta (tried Beta to see if it fixed initial problem) SBSH Papyrus (fantastic calendar/To Do program) SBSH Facade Codewallet Pro 5.31 (average program from poor company) Smart Explorer 2.1.4.553 All programs installed onto my 1GB miniSD card except Facade and Fizz Traveller. It seems the C600 has very little memory available to install apps onto the phone itself! Thanks in advance for any feedback, Mortal Wombat
Guest kam_ Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 (edited) Hmm where did you find Fizz Traveller 2.3 beta? Edited April 9, 2006 by kam_
Guest mortalwombat Posted April 10, 2006 Report Posted April 10, 2006 Hmm where did you find Fizz Traveller 2.3 beta? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was invited to take part in the beta program as a registered user of the current released version
Guest Griff_FFOC Posted April 10, 2006 Report Posted April 10, 2006 Silly question, the volume within WMP isn't turned down is it? The main volume and WMP volume can work independantly I think.

Guest Disco Stu Posted April 10, 2006 Report Posted April 10, 2006 I'd be more confident of this if you had installed an alternative media player, but use Smart Explorer to check the file association of MP3s etc. Go to File, Open, Manage File Types. Reassociate with WMP ;) This may be bogus advice but it's worth checking :P

Any other thoughts? I am starting to think the phone is knackered, (but that does not explain why resetting the phone using the clear storage tool makes everything work OK)....

I'm having the same problem with my C550...just started today. Anyone got any ideas? Ring tone works, which is mp3, but I don't get any sound from WMP or from Beta Player (not using TCMP but about to try that). Help!
