Guest swivel Posted April 10, 2006 Report Posted April 10, 2006 OK, I read up on a few threads regarding scratches on the SDA/SP5 screen. Displex seems to be the most common method for removing scratches, but I just wanted to let you all know that I just finished clearing my entire screen using Turtle Wax Scratch and Swirl Remover (for cars) and a microfiber cloth. It took about 30 minutes of constant rubbing, then wiping clean, then rubbing again, but now my SDA looks as good as new. Just be patient, don't be afraid to push down pretty hard, and use a small amount at a time.
Guest danolaru Posted April 10, 2006 Report Posted April 10, 2006 hy in my country(Romania) the turtle wax and swirl is nowhere to be found it's just displex and i don't know what to do the scratches aren't deep but they are just in the middle of the screenand you can't miss them it bother me to see them every time i watch something i wonder if you heard something about displex i searched the web and no one tried it on a spv i wonder if it works and if the lcd is protected by the case i hope you understand what am i talking about sorry about my english

Guest Gasman2 Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 Displex is brilliant! I've used it on loads of different devices... P <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Do you think it would work on an Ipod Nano?
Guest swivel Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 Yeah, I just got some Displex too. It works just as well as Turtle Wax. Of course if would work on an iPod Nano, but that's off-topic.
Guest danolaru Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 how do you remove the scratches with displex? a tutorial if possible, i don't want tu "hurt" the display thanks
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 Anyone tried T-Cut? Way too abrasive. Displex has been used since the early days of the SPV it is a very fine abrasive and a lot of people have had good results with it. There have been a few who have ruined their displays with it but that could be down to then not using the product correctly. More information on Displex can be found at http://www.displex.de/polish/english/index.htm
