Guest Mantafreak Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 right... don't think i've done anything to the phone.... I got a C600.... it isn't detected in active sync... windows keeps trying to connect it as a network device... i'm using 4.1... and my c500 still works... wtf is going on!!!! any help much appreciated!!
Guest Disco Stu Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 Try uninstalling AS and deleting all synchronised files etc as part of the process. Then use XP's file search tool to remove anything with activesync in the name (apart from the original installer) and reboot both PC and phone. Now put your lucky underpants on / get out your rabbit's foot / do a magic dance. Pray to your God for guidance on which USB socket to use. While you're at it, get him (or it may be Her) to bless the cable. Clear out your calendar because you'll probably be repeating this process throughout the weeks ahead. Reinstall ActiveSync and create new partnership. Easy....
Guest Mantafreak Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 I'd tried uninstalling and rebooting with active synce but i never thought to do it on my phone... all working now!!! DISCO STU.... U ROCK!!!  ;)/
Guest Disco Stu Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 I'm just glad that all those hours of tears and tantrums have not been in vain. Since I finally got AS working again a couple of weeks ago I've only had one tiny problem, but that was with the AOL browser losing its connection and was easily solved with a reboot. Ah well, lets enjoy our synchronising while we can :P ;)

Because it is still not recognising my phone. I feel i've tried everything!
Guest Disco Stu Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 Yes it is. Now put your lucky underpants on / get out your rabbit's foot / do a magic dance. Clear out your calendar because you'll probably be repeating this process throughout the weeks ahead. With respect, you may have tried everything but how many times have you tried everything ? It took me a lot of repeating the same tricks - I can recite the AS/USB XP Troubleshooter in my sleep - until I finally got a working connection. From reading everything from the Microsoft site to the various forums I can tell you there is no logical answer to this.
Guest maromacs Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 try turning off your firewall, it worked for me.i think i had the same problem. with ZoneAlarm on i couldn't sync, i turned it off and it works........ i hope for you too. Good luck. MaroMacs
