Message alert tones?

Hi All

I've a a few mp3 files for ringtones etc. If I place the mp3 in my docs for example I can select it as a ring tone but no matter where I put them they do not show up if I want to select tham as a new txt msg tone.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Couldn't say for certain on your device, on my C550 message tones and alerts must be WAVs and they go in Application data\sounds

That don't seem to work either for some reason!

With WM2003 PPCs you put them in the main Windows directory and they can only be wavs

thanks lads, I couldn't see the windows directory as I was using AS to browse the phone ;)

Works fine if I transfer it on the phone!
