Guest dougsdir Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 Is it just a matter of low supplies or is there a reason they have hooked it from the website and hardly any shops are stocking it? I hope they dont up the price when it comes back on sale on the web. I was just about to buy it. Doug

Doug <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If only I could get a quid everytime we hear about this ;) It's T-Mobile's policy to remove an item if it's not in stock. They put it back on when the Web/Telesales people get some in. There are a few available in the T-Mobile retail stores - you can still get 25% discounts with them :P
Guest galabude Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 New to this forum but im a t-mobile employee so thought id clear a few things up for you guys. The vario is out stock at the moment because of global demand so thats the reason its been taken off the website. Stock is starting to show up again now and most retail stores have it in stock and warehouse should have stock for tele and web sales. But with the introduction of the 7.50 web n walk add on for unlimited internet use subject to 2 gig fair usage policy dont think stocks will last long ps no plans to lower price and 25% off is on till end of month ;)

Guest shadamehr Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 galabude (or others), is the 25% line rental discount available in store or only online? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In full owned T-Mobile stores, yes - again supposedly only til end of month. In T-Mobile FRANCHISED stores however, they do line rental cashback rebate deals instead, so not as good in my opinion.

I rung a franchise this morning and they concur with your comments. Local T-Mobile shop doesn't answer the phone, I'll keep trying. Saw your post on XDA re 802.11g not working on latest ROM's for the Vario. If I pick up a Vario today and do not flash the latest rom will the reg hack work for 802.11g? Or will all the Vario's in store have the latest ROM and not allow the hack? Thinking about it I assume I could flash an old ROM even if the Vario has the latest ROM. Edited April 13, 2006 by Stabilo

Guest galabude Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 Most independants have stopped doing cashback on flext deals because they was so popular. So t-mobile retail stores are your best bet for 25% off for life!!!! Redemption offers are only for certain months of contract and have loads of terms and conditions. Get yourself to a GENUINE T-Mobile shop and get a good deal only on till end of this month!!! P.S If you commit to Web n Walk for length of contract then you get 25% off the

Guest shadamehr Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 Picked up a Vario from T-Mobile shop this afternoon, nice machine. Now struggling to get it to connect to my wireless network (M600 & M2000 connect ok). Anyone have any tips? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Apply the patch - do a search... Go to XDA Developers site, and search for Vario 802.11g or similar... Sorry I can't be as helpful as normal - I am meant to be packing for the Easter off early tomorrow, and already its near 1am... I'm sure others on here will fill in for me and add more, if you don't find it. This might get you sorted. I found also, that I had to DELETE all the pre-defined T-Mobile ofered wi-fi connections, to get it to work (there are loads listed, like BT Openzone etc). Only when I deleted all these, and applied the patch, did I get conected

Interestingly the M600 appears to be connecting at 802.11g. Looks like being another all nighter.
Guest nforsans Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 a question to Galabude, although somebody else may have the answer. I am on the old webnwalk which I took for 18 months when I got my vario on t-mobile last november. This does not give me unlimited web browsing. To get it should I add the 7.50 web'nwalk option on top of my webnwalk plan? Or have they made the webnwalk plan unlimited as well? Cheers
