Guest pjam001 Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 When trying to reply to t-mobile today using my mda compact II, through a GPRS connection I kept getting a message from the administrator saying Invalid Email Address. I have just managed to send the same email from my phone but connected through my laptops BB connection without problem. I seem to remember having a similar problem on my c500 on Orange. I have just managed to send an email to myself using GPRS with no problem. I am using my BB ISP's smtp server. Can anyone explain this please. Thanks.
Guest pjam001 Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 After much messing I think I've found the answer, if anyone is interested. I tried sending an email to my work address and got the invalid address message. I then changed the outgoing server to smtp.t-email.co.uk, selected outgoing requires authentication and use seperate settings. (left the username and password blank). Re-sent the email and it went with no error. Great.
Guest Confucious Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 (edited) Your SMTP server needs to be set to hoever you are connected throuugh - a pain isn't it. Glad you got it sorted. Edited April 12, 2006 by Confucious
