Guest tonythemediaguy Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 I can't access Google or Gmail (using m.gmail.com). I called t-mobile and they said it was a known issue. I was like WTF known issue? He said it's been a problem with the MDA and SDA. I tried changing the DNS to my own DNS server, but it still can't connect. Anybody know of a fix? Google Calendar just launched tonight and I would really like to use that on my smartphone. Thanks, Tony
Guest gujuguy67 Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 Just tried to access http://m.google.com/, http://google.com/, http://gmail.com/ - all seem to be working fine. I also tried to get Google Calendar to work, but it won't work because I think it is using AJAX(?). So, until a mobile version of it comes out, you are out of luck with that. BTW, my WiFi was off too.
Guest swivel Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 It just started working perfectly for me about 2 days ago here in Michigan. That seems to indicate a network problem/work-around that was put into effect here and will probably be done in your area soon. Just be patient and you'll be able to access google domain sites soon enough.
Guest tonythemediaguy Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 Do you have the $29.99 data plan? I do have it and can't access these sites, which sucks!
Guest hyedipin Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 how did you change DNS? I assume on T-Zones or T-Mobile Internet, and not on WiFi. GMAIL has an option to view all pages in text mod/html mode instead of ajax, which should work fine.
Guest yoos Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 It wasn't working for me for a while, but it's now working for me. I can now access the google sites. I've always had the unlimited GPRS with VPN and never changed the settings on my phone so I believe it was a T-M network thing...
