Guest drblow Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 Would you like us to report bugs here? Or direct to you by email? I have installed the app OK, but I get an error message on start up saying that security failed to initialize - so I cannot even open the app to test it!! That's on an Orange UK C550 (QVGA) that is application unlocked.

Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 Nice looking app, good luck with it's development ;)
Guest drblow Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 I followed the application unlock instructrions HERE (after a kind tip from leethacker ;) ) which solved the problem above - and I must say the interface is really nice! :P It would be great to be able to skin it!! I am now able to start up the app OK, & create an alarm - however at the time the alarm was meant to sound I got an error message onscreen saying 'corrupt registry entry'. The error message kept flashing up every few seconds (I imagine each time the alarm was meant to sound - I had it set to sleepy mode) so all I could do was close the app using xbar. Hope you can help me sort this out as I am still dying to try the app!
Guest rivia Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 Hello everyone after the Easter! First of all, thanks for all the feedback. We've probably fixed the bug with raising the error: "Couldn't initialize security". It is probably caused by different application unlocking mode on different devices. We've also fixed the bug with 'Corrupt Registry Entry', which is caused by Windows Media Player - it looks that in some version it cannot play *.wav files! (I understand that this error wasn't raised when mp3 or wma sounds were played). In one of the mails someone suggested that the application should search for sounds on the storage card. The truth is it is already searching the storage card, but only in the \Storage Card\My Documents folder (and all the subfolders). Full list of search directories is here (the application also searches subdirectories of given directories): \My Documents (in WM 2003 - \Storage\My Documents) \Storage Card\My Documents \Application Data\Sounds Program installation folder (default \Program Files\GenTimer) Hopefully this version will give everyone a chance to play with it, so we could find every bug there is ;). Please download new version from here: http://rivia.net/BetaTests/GenTimer_Setup.exe or if you prefer *.cab installer, from here http://rivia.net/BetaTests/Gentimer.CAB Rivia Support
Guest rivia Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 Would you like us to report bugs here? Or direct to you by email? You can report bugs here, or by email. There is no difference to us. However if you have some suggestions about the program (e.g. I want the 'Exit' key) it would be better if you would post it here, because othe users could say if this option is necessary or not.
Guest drblow Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 Thanks guys! The new version installs & works fine on my c550! The snooze function however only seems to knock off the alarm for 1 minute, no matter if I select 5/10 or 15 mins. Could I also suggest that the snooze function be made one of the soft keys? My biggest complaint with other alarm apps is that in order to snooze the alarm you have to enter a menu & then choose an option, not the most reliable thing for me when waking up in the morning as I tend to hit the wrong thing & then end up waking up 2 hours later in a panic!! ;)
Guest jem777 Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 At first glance: - Missing: a browse-for-media-files function. - Missing: possibility to compile a playlist of media files as alarm playlist.

Hello, This message is for everyone that didn't send us an e-mail to support [at] rivia.net (or didn't post his details on this forum). Please send us an e-mail, so we would know what type of devices are you using. We need this information also, so we could send free registration tickets.
