Guest baggie Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 Can anyone pls provide some advice as to how I can re-assign my start/unlock button on my SPV C550 (the leftmost button of the four buttons directly below the screen) or how I can remove the button itself? A few days ago the button began to become less responsive until finally it packed in altogether. Now the button does not work at all meaning I can only make/receive calls from my current phonebook, I cannot go into the start menu at all, cannot send texts (the button is needed for New or Reply), cannot lock the keypad (as cannot unlock it afterwards!). In fact there is not a lot of things I can do with my SPV C550 now ;) I have only had the phone 3 months bought on PAYG from Orange however as I am based in Hong Kong with no plans to come back to the UK anytime soon I cannot even return the phone to the shop to be repaired (if indeed it is covered under the phone warrantee). Is there therefore anyway to re-assign that button (without needing to use it to do so) or is my best bet to try to prise out the button itself in order to get to the contact pad below it? Help! Any ideas greatly appreciated.
