Guest flodis79 Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Store Homescreens Storage card\My Documents and they work like breeze. It works on my KROME SPY (HTC Magician) And where in the registry did you change the path?
Guest the-jackal Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 And where in the registry did you change the path? If its the same as C600 then there ia no need too. ;)
Guest hyedipin Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Why do you want to store home screens in your SD? They are only tiny XML files! Now, if you want to store graphics of the theme in your SD, now that's reasonable. Just open the xml you are using, and look for all the .gif, .jpg, .bmp, .png, etc... graphic formats it uses. Check the location of them, and copy those graphic files to your SD, note the location/path, and go back to the XML and just edit the destination of the files with where you moved them to. ;) It should also be always faster to change home screens from on board memory.

Fair comment but why bother mucking about with the xml? may as well just put them both in the same folder. Saves alot of time and i havent noticed the change over being any slower.
Guest mini_man Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 Lol this is so useful cos im always running out of storage space. Are you saying that you dont have to edit the xml if you put everything in the storage card?
Guest w411y Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 What he is sayin is you put the XML in the same place as ever (storage\application data\home) and then put the backgroudn image and any other images on the SD card. In the XML you can chose the path of the background image.

Guest mini_man Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 Wicked, that free'd up some more space.
Guest Wzierbovsky Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 I've just given that a go on my Dopod 577W - putting one set of XML and background picture files into Storage Card\My Documents, then went to Theme Changer to look for it. It doesn't work for me though - the displaced set of theme files doesn't show up on the list anymore.
Guest pavankp Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 LOL Just try it. :) I have my xml and jpg files in Storage Card>My Documents and they work fine. It does work when you go to Settings -> Home screen. But if I have as the default home screen an XML on the storage card and then I restart the phone, my phone says the layout cannot be selected. If I go to Settings -> Home screen and click Done, then it works OK. I am thinking this is because the storage card is not available to the home screen application on startup. Do you see the same behavior? Pavan
