Guest Webreaper Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 Fairly regularly I find the phone and/or control panel get 'stuck' on-screen and can't be closed. It seems to happen more when I click on the wifi icon and choose 'settings' - the cpl applet opens without a close button. I run vBar, but not sure if that's the cause. It's annoying though, as the only way to clear is a soft-reset. With the phone it's also annoying - I choose 'close all' from vBar but it just fickers on/off several times but won't actually close. Anyone know the solution?
Guest Laser_iCE Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 Never had this issue personally, and I'm not using vBar... That could be the reason ;) I use SPB Pocket Plus as an alternative, so perhaps you could try uninstalling vBar, see if it still happens, and if so, give SPBP+ a go :P
Guest jimbouk Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 Sounds like vbar is playing up. Options are 1) soft reset, 2) remove vbar, 3) replace vbar with SPB pocketplus 4) hard reset if the device is still playing up Like Laserice, I use pocketplus 3.1 (on my Jamin) and with the latest rom it has been very sturdy.
Guest Webreaper Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 I tried pocketPlus but it's bloatware really, just to close apps instead of suspending them (I don't want/need) any of the other gumpf that comes with SPBPP. I had the same problem with Magic Button, but much more frequently - perhaps it's just a trait of these sorts of task managers...
Guest Webreaper Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 I've found what's causing the problem - seems that vBar displays 'Desktop' as a running program, and if you accidentally close that you're stuffed, and can never get the today screen back. Is this a vBar bug, or a WM5 issue?
