Problems with Pocket Outlook

Hi there,

Just got myself a new WM5 equipped smartphone, but have been having some trouble setting up my email.

I've set up pocket outlook with my IMAP server and, well, I've found the support of this protocol is hardly ideal, but that isn't such a big deal. However, what is is that I can't get the device to save a copy of sent messages - anywhere. I've checked the option to 'Save copies of sent items' in the options menu, but to no avail. I've also tried turning folder synchronization for the sent items folder on and off too, but it makes no difference. I notice that when I do send an item, the message does get transferred to the folder momentarily when the status is 'sending', but then disappears immediately afterwards. Has anyone else had any similar problems?

As an alternative to getting the above working, I thought 'hey I'll just BCC myself whenever I send messages, and just set up filtering on the server to copy them across to sent', but it seems like the CC/BCC fields in the compose window are missing in WM5 as well. How do you access these?

Thanks,

Ken.

Ken,

I'm having the same problem. I'm trying to use an IMAP account on my MS Mobile 5.0 pocket Outlook. It reads the folders fine, and I can check my mail correctly. I can also send mail, but like you said, it won't save it. I suspect that it has a default "sent items" folder that it tries to save to, and since neither of our IMAP accounts have that exact folder, it is rejected. I haven't tested this out though. I've been looking for some kind of Pocket PC mail client that lets you CHOOSE your sent items folder, but no luck yet. I like having copies of what I've sent, so I won't feel comfortable sending mail from my PDA until I can get sent mail copies working. If anyone knows of a solution, please let me know! Thanks,

Jon.

For PocketPC the best client is FLexMail by WebIS. The next version should be great.
