how to play media files via wifi

i have just upgraded my phone to an spv m1000 and am using wifi for the first time. i am fine using internet explorer and messenger but wondered if it is possible to listen to music files stored on my pc, via wifi using the windows media software on the phone. So basically i want to use the phone as a portable mp3 player around the house listening to music stored on my pc.

firstly this is the wrong place to post the question :) best place would be in the Pocket PC help and advice forum on this site.

secondly it is possible sometimes - sometimes you can give it the direct link to the file and open it via URL in WMP.
