Guest med3d Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 HTC has been a leader so far in manufacturing smartphones. Now comes the time for some competition. Check out their website : http://www.techfaithwireless.com/english/services_1_5_2.htm These new mobiles would be WM5, Triband, WIFI, UMTS, Bluetooth, Irda with a built-in 1.3 M Camera (2.0 M optional!!!). Just wonder about the price!
Guest w411y Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 May I say... they've all got a great finish to them, looks very nice ;) Not too sure about the keyboard on the 2nd one down mind. Lets hope they're successful alongside HTC
Guest Pondrew Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 It'll be interesting to see what effect if any this company has on the market and whether they're able to make in-roads... Think the company is still little known outside China.
Guest JOEJOETHEJOEY Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 The question is how long it's gonna take for them to release it and have them available. ;) I hate the waiting game.
Guest roma0803 Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 (edited) 1.9" 176x220 65K TFT screen? I guess with that they just will take over the neigbourhood, not the world. Edit: Don't know about the changes in this forum, but can't read my own posts so I don't know if you can.... Edited April 16, 2006 by roma0803

Guest Laser_iCE Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 I think the bottom phone, the slide out one, looks pretty sexy... Looks like one of those D600 or whatever they are, the Samsungs... Sexy!
Guest Tryster Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 The 512MB ROM would be very useful, but the 512MB RAM is overkill. Bear in mind that for anything in RAM to be kept, the RAM needs a constant supply of power... I seem to remember reading somewhere that in the old pocket PCs just keeping 128MB ROM fed for 72 hours consumed about half the average battery life (assuming a 1000mAh batttery). This drain is linear so it'd pretty much kill battery life... The only way around it I can think of is to have some fancy technique similar to a page file writing the RAM back to ROM when the device sleeps... But I guess you've then got the issue of only being able to write to the same sector of Flash ROM a finitie number of times?? That said I'd like to see a proper review when (if) they make it to market...
Guest UnLoCkSmItH Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 (edited) Ok, I just read on another site about the 512Mb thing and it said that it's 512Mbits and not 512Mbytes so you divide by 8 and get 64Mb. Can someone correct me if I'm wrong? 64Mb ROM and 64Mb RAM. Kind regards P.S. they need to increase screen size on bar phone and I would get one perhaps.. but chrome would get scratches.. My SP5 still remains my fav phone.. ;)) :P Edited April 21, 2006 by UnLoCkSmItH
