Guest fergiem Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 (edited) HI, I know there have been ample articles written about this but I'm still having problems and getting desperate! When I try and sync there the activesync shows no partnership and the connection wizard does not recognise the mobile device but the USB port is fine. I have downloaded 4.1 and I have searched to remove all previous copies of other versions before reinstalling - still no joy. 1. I have managed to install and sync with my laptop at work but not my home laptop 2. When I first tried to sync with my home laptop I accidentally left my SPV connected could that have created a problem? 3. How do i 'reboot' my spv? is it just a case of turning it off and on? 4. I have tried to check all the security settings on my laptop and I think they are all ok. 5. I live in China where there are certain restrictions on the internet. I saw there were troubleshooting guides that mentioned TCP/IP lines needed to be used so could this be affecting it. My laptop at work uses a dedicated line that is not censored. 6. Is there anything else you can suggest!!! Thanks so much really appreciate your help as this is rather frustrating. Cheers Fergie Edited April 16, 2006 by fergiem

Guest zzp9cj Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 I have the same problem. I can activeysnc with my laptop and activesync over bluetooth with my home PC. The problem arises when trying to activesync over USB with my home PC. It just won't connect. I have read the the threads regarding Firewalls, security stuff etc and have tried all the suggestions. Any help would be appreciated as I cant activesync any mediafiles from WM10 .... arrrgghhh

Any help would be appreciated as I cant activesync any mediafiles from WM10 .... arrrgghhh Have a look at http://tinyurl.com/mp6nq - I have been having this problem too, and it turns out that when the phone is connected to the USB cable, the PC creates a Local Area Connection to communicate with it. For some reason, this connection does not have TCP/IP enabled, and so ActiveSync and the phone can't communicate with each other. Editing the properties of the connection and enabling TCP/IP seems to fix it. However, my PC's internet all now tries to go through the phone's connection - does anyone know how to get the PC to continue using my bog standard Local Area Connection (network cable)? Cheers, James
