Guest Stabilo Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 Are there any readily available Pocket PCs that offer wifi upto 802.11g? Thanks. The Orange M600 does 802.11g and the MDA Vario does with a simple registry hack.

Guest Confucious Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 The Orange M600 does 802.11g and the MDA Vario does with a simple registry hack. I didn't know about the M600 but what I do know is that all the WM5 devices that can use the registry hack to connect to g networks but they still only connect at b speeds - the hack only allows them to connect and use the network, it doesn't mean they connect at 54Mb. Lucky you went for the M600 then ;)
Guest Webreaper Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 Pretty certain the M600 doesn't go g speeds either, it's just a compatibility mode.
Guest Zahid Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 Got my M600 yesterday, and just getting used to the switch from my C500. I didn't think I'd miss such a little key-pad so much ;) I guess it's just like learning to ride a bike all over again; I'll get there in the end. On the plus side, not sure what the M600's wifi is connecting at but it isn't as bad as my dial-up I got rid of only a few weeks ago :P
