It will be available to Business and Consumer customers as of May 1st.

The features of the 'Professional' bundle are:

Unlimited e-mail and browsing from laptop or any device.

Send large files and attachments.

6 times faster connection than standard 3G - free upgrade to HSDPA when it becomes available later this year - allowing 1.6mb/s down.

Use any internet based application.

12 months WIFI hotspot access free.

Available as a Data Only contract for

Banning VOIP is a major PITA !! Am now wondering whether this "Pro" version is actually worth it for purely phone users ??

So I just phoned sales and asked them about web and walk pro. Maybe the saleswoman I spoke to wasn't properly informed, but here's a brief summary of what she said (which seems to contradict some of the earlier posts?):

* Web'n'walk Pro not available now, being rolled out this month.

* Designed as data only tariff available for 17.50 a month.

* Fair usage policy allows 3Gb a month.

* Laptop use allowed.

I then pressed her on what the differences between Web'n'walk and Web'n'walk Pro were:

* Real difference is that pro is available without talk plan minutes

* It'd be ok on standard to use the phone as a modem provided I didn't exceed the FUP

(I came back to this one two or three times in different ways to make sure she understood what I was asking)

* FUP on standard is the same 3Gb limit.

I'm going to give it an hour or so and call back to talk to someone else. Anyone else get any reports?

150 and the T-Mobile Manchester store say the pro is available now for all users. Their words not mine.

Is the faster speed available now and does it work on all phones? Nobody at T-mobile seems to know.

You will also note the upload/download speeds in the settings menu. So maybe it is faster - certainly at uploading.

Just tried a test upload to our server and I can confirm that the WnW Pro uploads faster than my 2MB broadband home connection!!!

BTW: Does anybody know what the standard 3G upload speeds are?

Can't see the "pro" version on "My T-mobile" yet. I also notice that all the settings on my web'n'walk (SIM only tariff) are shown as "off" what do those actually mean?

Still no sign of the "pro" bundle on "My T-mobile", selfserve as usual is in treacle mode. Didn't expect it on May 1st since that was a bank holiday.

I notice that it is now down for routine maintenance. Hopefully pro will appear then.

AARGH!, no it hasn't and several people are reporting in uk.telecom.mobile that they've been told my T-mobile CS that it is a "business only" add on ;)

EDIT#2:

It was thus with some sense of foreboding that I asked T-mobile CS to change my consumer web'n'walk to the "Web'n'Walk Professional Bundle". After a brief wait while the CS rep asked about it it was added no problem :P
