M500 - VIBRATE

Does anybody know how to shorten the length of a vibrating text alert on an Orange SPV M500?? I use vibrate as i am unable to use tones at work. The big problem is that the vibration lasts for 5 (YES FIVE) seconds, which does have a tendency to not only grab everyones attention but also make me feel like im having a heart attack! Every other phone i have had either buzzes for a second or two or does two short vibrations.

HELP! Its doing my head in!
