Guest hardeep33 Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 Hi, Sorry if this has been posted i tried to search but couldn't find anything. I have the SPV C600, no mods, no updates, no nothing! Just standard, out-of-the-box, contract phone! So why when i try to send a picture message all i get is 'Not enough memory'. Hmmm? So i have a 512mb card so my main phone memory is virtually unused. I delete all other picture messages from when it used to work, but still no luck? Has anyone else had a similar problem or do any of you know of a fix for this? Maybe a firmware/software upgrade? Also, the texting is really sluggish, not as good as my C500! I appriciate any directions or help guys! Thank you!! Hardeep P.S. Thought i'd never say this but now that i have a sony psp is there any real need for a smartphone? All i used it for was for watching films and listening to music on the train. Hmmm...my next phone could be a sony ericsson again!!!!

There is a bug that means you cant send MMS with less than 4MB of free STORAGE Memory. This is not the same as RAM, and you may be surprised to learn that you likely DON'T have more than 4MB free with little else installed. You can use the "System Info" option in the File Explorer to see how much you have. In any event, there is a tiny little simply cab patch on the Orange website in the downloads section for the C600, which fixes this to a more realistic figure. And the newer ROM's have this already inbuilt on the i-mate sp5's so I suspect Orange's next update will too.
Guest peekie Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 The latest C600 update fixes that problem try that and your problem will be sorted ;)

When i said i searched i actually meant that I had used the search tool and it came back with nothing. You're so right! I had 3.89mb of storage memory! I'll speak to orange soon and see if they i have an official upgrade. Otherwise i'll keep having to delete a couple of images just to keep the storage memory up! Thanks again! Nice avatar!

Thanks - as I mentioned Orange already have a patch for this - but as a none C600 user, I can't tell you the url. It might even have been the Orange Dutch site that had it. (Oh and thanks for saying it was a helpful post - it should be though *lol* - it was me that noticed this bug and posted about it here first, way back in October 2005 or thereabouts, when the sp5 first came out - and it just shows how long it's took for Orange to sort it *lol*). Peekie might remember - pm him... Edited April 18, 2006 by shadamehr
