have tried various system volume settings and downloaded registery editor but values are correct. i think? problem is that fone will ring but when answered cannot hear or be heard. thought system settings may b wrong got regisry and checked by altering fone volume and reconnecting to see if changes this does. is this software or hardware please help someone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the registry has been altered in any way and you are not sure what has been changed then it may be worth doing a hard reset to restore the phone to it's default settings.

Remember you will have to reinstall your applications and re-sync your contacts.

So the caller cannot hear you either?

Does it work using a headset plugged in? If so, likely it will be the speaker, if not, then do a hard reset first - ( or loading the latest rom won't hurt from www.my-xda.com ) there may be a fault in the analogue stage. The next thing to try after that would be a bluetooth earpiece.
