Guest Stabilo Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 Until recently I was using a Blue Angel (WM 2003 SE) and now use a Wizard (WM5). After installing numerous media players (realplayer, core, Tcpmp pocketTV, sompyPlayer) I found there was only TCPMP that would play avi's and MPG4's on the Wizard. And that was after installing the 4 extra codecs on their site. As my Wizard is quite full the media files, TCPMP and the extra codecs are all installed on the 1GB storage card. I have noticed the video stalls quite frequently even though the audio plays ok. Is this because the processor and OS is worse than the Blue Angel or is it because I used the storage card? With the Blue Angel I had media on the storage card but the player and codecs on the pocketpc. Any suggestions how to speed up video playback, without overclocking the processor (better media players or codecs for WMP 10 perhaps)?
Guest ivanmmj Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 The stuttering is probably because of the CPU. There is a link around one of the more recent posts that shows some info about which codec and which player to use for these devices. You can also try overclocking your CPU.

I use mencoder to encode video to divX at 320x240 and they play fine on this class of device in tcpmp g
