Silencing the text message notification

Hey all,

Is there a way to silence the text message notification while its playing on my qtek 8300. For example, when the phone rings, you can press the side buttons or another button which will silence the ring.

Is there a registry tweak which would allow me to silence the text message notifiiation? Please let me know if that was confusing, i can reclarify...thanks..
