Hello,

just wondering if anyone knows if my password is encrypted when i sign into Pocket Msn or the Msn Mobile Hotmail site via my Windows Mobile 5 device? Or is my password sent in clear text?

I sometimes connect to public wifi hotspots and i am weary of people sniffing the network for passwords . If the password is sent in clear text i dont want to use hotmail anymore on my phone. Who knows, maybe i am connecting to a rogue hotspot sometimes..

Does anyone know?

Pretty sure it's encrypted - should use SSL. And whilst theoreticallly it might be possible for somebody to sniff your data when you're using wifi, it's extremely unlikely - they'd have to go to a lot of trouble to do so.

But if you're sending content which is sensitive and you're worried about security you shouldn't really be using hotmail anyway....

no its not sent in clear text at all, it is using the same method as you would when you are logging on from a normal computer ;)
