xda mini s help

hello....im new to this web site so hope some 1 can help me!!!! ;)

i have resently got a XDA mini s, & am having a few problems.

1. How do u or can u get rid of the icons on the left side of the home screen. i never use them

2. i can not get themes for my mini s to work properly, i think it might b coz of the icons. my phone just

keeps crashing

is there any way to get round this or do i need a certen type of theme file?

Hi damills, welcome to modaco!

Firstly, I'd do a hard reset to get rid of all the o2 stuff (I'm assuming you don't use any of it, o2 active etc) as it just eats up resources and looks a mess. You'll need to do a hard reset by holding the two top side buttons and pressing the reset button, then keep holding the 2 side ones until the prompt shows up... or you can use the clear storage in the settings menu (those methods are from memory but a search should prove fruitful if you're stuck)

Once the phone is resetting you should choose the corporate install (the passcode is 0506)

This will remove all o2 customisation such as the homescreen icons you were talking about, but it will also delete EVERYTHING from your XDA so make sure everything you want is backed up. Also backup your connection settings for gprs / mms etc as they'll go too.

As for homescreens, you need .tsk files, you can find some in the downloads section on this site (QVGA).

does the corperate mode effect the xda mini s being used as a phone. making calls, sending txt etc..? will i still get reception signal from o2?

It will function exactly the same as before but without all the o2 rubbish!

i did the full reset and.......

WOOHOOO ;)

its soooo much better!! the phone dosent freeze the wen u use the keyboard, its exits out of progams quicker, cheers madeye! and it free's up about 20 odd MB of storage space, the only thing u loose is...

the battery metre but u can get apps 4 that, and u dont get the o2 logo at the top (so what) lol
