hi friends,

my imate pocketpc phone was stolen today. the phone is on (i called several times, it rings), i have the IMEI number with me. is there a way to trace it? it is not locked to any particular cell phone provider in the US. it is an unlocked phone, anyone can slip in a sim card and use it with his/her cell phone provider.

please help me.

Contact the network who's sim is in the phone and ask them to locate it?

unfortunately, i had a prepaid sim card in it. the service provider refuses to help, unless the phone is bought from them.

Weren't there laws/regulations passed in the last couple of years regarding stolen phones and their IMEI? I would have thought that would force them to help you.
