MDA Vario has stopped syncing

Since this afternoon I have been unable to get my t-mobile MDA vario to sync with my PC via usb. I keep getting the message:

'Synchronization cannot be completed successfully. Reconnect your device and try again. If the problem persists, see the Microsoft ActiveSync troubleshooter in Microsoft ActiveSync help on your desktop computer'

When I plug the vario into the usb lead it the ActiveSync screen shows me as 'Guest'

I have had the vario for 10 days and this is the first time that I have had trouble syncing (after some initial problems with my sygate firewall, which I solved by uninstalling it).

The only thing that I can think of as causing the problem is that I transferred some photos from my camera to the PC via usb earlier today - this is the first time that I have done this since buying the Vario.

I am running Windows XP pro and ActiveSync 4.1.0 So far I have tried:-

turning my pc on and off

soft resetting the vario

turning off my windows firewall

using windows system restore

uninstalling then reinstalling ActiveSync

uninstalling then reinstalling Outlook

using infra red to sync (this doesn't work either)

I'd REALLY appreciate any advice on this one!

Thanks in advance

Pete :P

OK, I've fixed it - turned out I needed to take out the usb lead, reinstall activesync then put the usb lead back in again ;)

Another option (for future reference) can be to unplug and delete the partnership rather than reinstall ActiveSync.

Thanks for this. It failed to sync again last night so I deleted an restored the partnership. Took ages to resync all my data, but quicker than reinstalling Activesync. Thanks again for the tip.
