Guest kaplanfx Posted April 20, 2006 Report Posted April 20, 2006 Ok so I'll make this a brief as possible. Does anyone know how to open the sda to get at the circuit board level? I remember reading an article about someone who removed a piece of wire to fix there speaker so it must be possible. Here's a description of my problem: There is a rattle when I move my phone, like a loose screw or piece of plastic inside the phone which is really annoying while I am moving or talking at the same time. I have never dropped the phone so I'm not sure how the piece got loose. I have tested all functions of the phone and operation seems normal which makes me think is a piece of plastic or loose screw. Oh and I bought some hex wrenches but nothing worked (metric or british, I tried the 2.5mm I think and the 1/16 and 5/64 or 5/32 or something). Anyhow I would go for the warranty, but the phone is working fine and I most likely voided my warranty when I flashed the phone with the sp5m rom (I had to CID unlock it in order to do so). Ok so that explanation went a little long but I'd really like to know how to open my SDA up and find out what the thing is then remove it (or tape down). -Kap
Guest kam_ Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 You need a torx bit.. T6 seems a little tight on my SP5, so i imagine its a T5
Guest fluffcat1 Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 I'd flash it back to original spec and get warranty service - you never know when you may need the warranty in future ;) If you *really* want to open it a good general guide is in the typhoon section, the major difference being the lack of a screw under the mini sd slot holding the keypad. Guest karim099 Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 hi, i recently opened my Sp5m to clean the dust on the cover fromt he inside. Maybe this can help u.follow these steps, they are similar for opening the Sp5m in general. but be careful this precedure will void the warranty and when u put the screw driver through the opening it might leave traces on the this fragile cover. I wonder when HTC will make easy to change covers...
