For some reason everytime I try to sign in on MSN Messenger on the Vario, Ive never gotten this to work, it keeps saying that it is unable to sign in as the services are down

however I can connect to MSN on my PC without any problems. I am connected to my own wireless network successfully.

any ideas on why this is?

Hrm I only get that VERY rarely and I think it must be when the cell is heavily loaded and cant make the connection.

On my vario 95% of the time it will sign in no problems...not really sure what else it could be other than the device not getting a long enough timeslot over GPRS,

I used to have this problem and then I installed Agile messenger, its freeware I think and a much better program than the pre-installed MSN, it seems a much lighter programm more stable and also has Yahoo and ICQ, its very easy to use to. I am sorry I cant remember where I got it from but it is out there for WM5.

For the connection problem I load a webpage in explorer to make myself connected before I go into msn, works everytime.

Hope thats helped a bit.

Unfortunately travisb is right about agile no longer being free but sqilla's advice on loading a web page first is what I always do - it helps with send / receive mail on hotmail too.

For some reason the built in MSN doesn't seem to work on anything but GPRS

Nots sure why!

It connects fine on Wifi on my M2000. Never get any problems at all. Well, no more disconnects than a PC running MSN that is!
